Baylor College of Medicine School of Medicine welcomed its inaugural class of medical students to its new regional campus in Temple, Texas, in 2023.
The campus is co-located with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, the Central Texas flagship of Baylor Scott & White Health, which is the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas.
Medical students train in both real and simulated environments from day one, learning and developing their skill sets in simulation labs and hospitals and out-patient offices with doctors, physician assistants and nurses, as well as other medical professionals.
After 15 months of didactic training, students will begin their required clinical rotations at the Baylor Scott & White Health campus and at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Temple.
Forty students make up the group of first-year students. Ninety-two percent of the Temple students are from Texas, reinforcing the institutions’ mission to serve the state. The students in Temple join 186 students on the Houston campus in Baylor College of Medicine’s Class of 2027.
