Mid-century ranch style homes make up the majority of this neighborhood, one of the most desirable in Temple. Residents are a close-knit mix of empty nesters and young families who enjoy living close to downtown and the historic district and near multiple schools and outdoor spaces.
Historic District
Once home to many prominent Texans, including two Governors and the founder of Baylor Scott & White Health, this is a neighborhood of culturally significant architecture and mature landscapes near downtown. It includes a variety of historic housing options for both individuals and families.
Jackson Park
Unique cottages on tree-lined streets surround Jackson Park, one of the oldest parks in Temple that has a trail that’s friendly for kids, bikes, dogs, and people with special needs. Hillcrest Cemetery is another distinct feature of the neighborhood and a site of significance to historians throughout Texas.
Las Cruces

The core of the neighborhood includes many Hispanic-owned businesses, as well as Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. It is home to landmarks such as the Santa Fe Clinic (one of the first locations for Scott & White Hospital), Gober Party House, Barclay Mansion, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Midtown is also the heart of Temple’s citizens, with almost all social service agencies based in the district, where volunteers gather to help lift the community.
Temple Heights
The relationship between residential and commercial areas make Temple Heights one of the most ideal locations in the city. The perimeter of businesses offer a wide variety of goods and services, while the core contains a diverse neighborhood of homes, schools, and churches. It is situated near both downtown and TMED, with multiple prominent corridors to get to and from other parts of town.
