Wilsonart and EOS Surfaces Announce Distribution Agreement

TEMPLE, Texas (December 18, 2013) – Wilsonart and EOS Surfaces are pleased to announce that Wilsonart will be the exclusive distributor of Antimicrobial Cupron Enhanced EOS Surfaces™ in 38 states throughout the U.S. The copper-enhanced material kills greater than 99.9% of Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria within two hours of exposure and is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Public Health Claims.

“Cupron Enhanced EOS Surfaces is the first synthetic hard surface proven to kill specific disease-causing bacteria, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA),” noted Joseph Elia, Solid Surface Sales Manager at Wilsonart. “With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimating that health care-acquired infections (HAIs) affect 2 million individuals and result in about 100,000 deaths annually, killing bacteria on frequently touched surfaces can play an important role in managing risks associated with microbial control. With Cupron Enhanced EOS Surfaces, our sales force will be able to provide expanded options and substantial healthcare solutions to health care organizations, architects and health care consultants among others.”

“Joining forces with Wilsonart gives us expanded distribution channels for a product we anticipate will make a real difference in reducing bioburden in healthcare facilities and could become a standard of care for the industry,” noted Ken Trinder, CEO and President at EOS Surfaces, LLC. “With our state-of-the-art facility in Norfolk, Virginia producing the product and Wilsonart’s warehousing system, fleet of delivery trucks and the largest sales representative force in the country, it is win/win for both companies. We look forward to working with Wilsonart to take projects from design to build.”

Antimicrobial Cupron Enhanced EOS Surfaces can be used in a wide range of applications, including countertops, nurses’ stations, and tables.

For more than five years, Wilsonart has provided commercial specifiers with a wide range of surfacing solutions. From laminate to decorative metals, custom printed laminates to thermofused melamine, solid surface and more, Wilsonart’s specifications sales force work with interior designers, architects, facilities managers and other specifiers throughout the U.S. and Canada to find solutions for their surfacing needs.
