Ben Lopez supports Temple businesses by connecting them with workforce resources. He works closely with the Temple Chamber of Commerce and the Temple Economic Development Corporation, aiming to pair growing companies with skilled talent and in turn promoting Temple as an ideal location to conduct business.
When he’s not working, Ben serves as a board member for both the United Way of Central Texas and the Central Texas Regional Advisory Group. Here, he works to direct campaigns, funding and local agencies in need while also solving transportation challenges that arise as the region’s population continues to grow at a rapid pace.
In the past five years, Ben has seen the remarkable strides in redevelopment that Temple has achieved right outside of his office window.
“The city of Temple does an amazing job at providing a quality of place. Whether you’re into youth sports, craft beer, live music, small local businesses, women owned businesses – we have all the bases covered here. You have everything you need while having a small-town experience.”
Ben frequently utilizes the miles of beautiful hiking trails woven throughout the city, his favorite being Miller Springs. He also looks forward to enjoying a play at the Temple Civic Theatre or attending a show at the Temple Symphony Orchestra.
Something that Ben values most is Temple’s strategic location, which has benefitted his life both personally and professionally.
“You have all the amenities you need here – entertainment, restaurants, live music, sports and recreation. You don’t have to drive an hour south to Austin or drive to Dallas and Fort Worth. We still have a strong school system, great workforce presence, and different industries in which you can start your career.”
