Performance Food Group Invests $10 Million To Expand Temple Facility

TEMPLE, Texas — Performance Food Group Company (PFG) and The Temple Economic Development Corporation (Temple EDC) today announced that Performance Foodservice ‒ Temple will soon begin a $10-million expansion project. The expansion will include construction of a 76,000-square foot addition to the current operation at 4141 Lucius McCelvey Drive and is expected to create 100 additional jobs during the next 60 months.

The Temple EDC Board of Directors approved an economic development agreement that includes a cash grant, and The City of Temple also provided a 50 percent tax abatement to the company for five years.

“We are pleased and proud to have PFG as an important member of the Temple business and manufacturing community,” said David Blackburn, Temple EDC President. “New business moving to Temple is always exciting to celebrate but supporting our existing businesses and enabling their growth is a crucial component of effective economic development efforts. This expansion is welcome news, and we’re excited that PFG chose its Temple facility to invest in.”

Performance Foodservice ‒ Temple distributes a large assortment of food products including the choicest cuts of USDA meats, poultry, fish, baked goods, condiments and even cleaning supplies. The company services a wide variety of restaurants and health care customers located in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

“The Temple Economic Development Corporation has been a terrific partner in this process,” said Steve Broad, Performance Foodservice Regional President. “Their incentive package has enabled us to move forward on this key expansion project, which is essential to our ability to serve our growing customer base.”
