Panda Power Funds Selects GP Strategies for Monitoring and Training at State-of-the-Art Combined Cycle Power Plants

COLUMBIA, Md., April 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX) was selected by Panda Power Funds to provide instructor-led training and GPiLEARN™ web-based training at three of their new natural gas power plants: one in Sherman and two plants in Temple, Texas. In addition, Panda Power Funds chose GP Strategies’ EtaPRO™ technologies for performance and condition monitoring at those plants.

The Sherman and Temple plants are expected to be among the most efficient, rapid-start combined cycle power plants in Texas. The Temple plants will have the combined capacity to generate 1516 megawatts of power and the Sherman plant will have the capacity to generate 758 megawatts of power using the latest, most advanced emissions-control technology, making them some of the cleanest and most efficient natural gas-fueled power plants in the nation.

To support this innovative technology, the new plants require a well-trained workforce and advanced equipment monitoring systems to ensure the highest level of performance is achieved. GP Strategies was selected to help drive these performance initiatives at the Sherman and Temple I & II power generating stations.

“Panda Power Funds conducted a rigorous evaluation process comparing GP Strategies to other providers. GP Strategies’ deep domain expertise and powerful combination of EtaPRO and GPiLEARN technologies will help ensure that our plants perform at their best,” said Don Thorpe, Vice President of Operations at Panda Power Funds.
