HUDSON MFG. LLC EXPANDS IN TEMPLE TO MEET MARKET DEMAND

The Temple Economic Development Corporation (Temple EDC) and Hudson Mfg, LLC (Hudson) today announced that Hudson will soon expand their small arms manufacturing facility with the purchase of over $2 million in automated machining equipment, and adding 10 additional jobs averaging $50,000 per year. Hudson is located in Temple’s North Industrial Park off NW HK Dodgen Loop.

“Hudson’s growth in Temple as an advanced manufacturer that offers excellent wages is a great thing for our workforce,” David Blackburn, Temple EDC, President said. “The equipment and manufacturing processes that Hudson use are already being taught to our future workforce in high school through Career and Technical Education. Temple EDC is proud to support existing companies that create opportunity with expansions and build a higher quality workforce.”

The Temple EDC Board of Directors approved an economic development agreement that includes a cash grant at their November 2017 Board Meeting.

“We could not find a single reference book on start-up manufacturing,” Cy Hudson, CEO of Hudson Mgf said. “Plenty exist for software and passive income, but American manufacturing is its own challenge.  Temple has proven to be the perfect place for Hudson’s manufacturing work to establish itself and grow.  We’ve been very successful in attracting and hiring qualified individuals seeking a career with an innovative and expanding company.  We feel we made the right choice in bringing Hudson Mfg to Temple.”

Hudson’s flagship product, the H9 pistol chambered in 9mm, is a prime example of industry innovation; beautifully merging the striker-fired action with a 1911-style trigger. In keeping with their promise to Keep Advancing, Hudson recently announced the H9A. With 90% parts commonality and 100% interchangeability, the H9A utilizes the same steel chassis insert, ambidextrous slide stop levers and reversible magazine catch as the flagship H9. At 26 ounces, the H9A is a half-pound lighter than the all steel H9. Sporting premium polymer grip panels and a fiber optic front sight, the H9A provides a lightweight option to shooters looking for the flat shooting characteristics and premium trigger of the H9.
