Construction is underway at Crossroads Park: a $20 million, 260-acre mega sports complex

Coming soon: a state-of-the-art park complex to play and watch sports in Temple. Temple’s best kept secret, an ever-expanding parks and trail system, is about to open the largest of its parks. The recreational complex is expected to be an economic generator – serving as a catalyst for sports tourism.

Construction began on the innovative sports complex in 2018 and will be open this fall. Consisting of approximately 260 acres, the park is in the west central area of Temple. The park will be a regional draw to host a variety of sports and tournaments, including soccer, softball, lacrosse, rugby, ultimate Frisbee, tennis and flag football. Pedestrian hike and bike trails surround the facility and the 27-hole disc golf course will connect to the popular 4.5-mile Pepper Creek Trail. Other additions to the recreational complex include a regional detention pond that will serve as storm water protection to the park, restrooms, playground, landscaping and concession stands.

The sports complex will generate economic development as well as increase the public health and wellness for both residents and visitors.
