Support Resources
A New Day Learning Academy provides childcare for ages 6 weeks - 12 years, with full/part-time childcare, providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. They also offer after school and summer programs. **CCS Accepted** At-risk meals provided through partnership with Central TX Alliance.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas, Inc. (BGCTX) proudly serves 21,000 youth annually and 3,200 youth per day in 29 Club sites throughout the region.
Central Texas 4C, Inc. (Head Start) provides developmentally appropriate education to income eligible children ages 0-5, as well as to the Head Start child and family: Health and Nutrition Services, Mental Health Services, Disability Services, Transition Services, Social Services, Literacy Services and other parent education opportunities. There is no cost for eligible families.
The Child Care Services (CCS) program of the Texas Workforce Commission provides scholarships for child care. Child care scholarships are available to help parents work, search for work, or attend school or job training.
Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) Army Child Care Fee Assistance Program provides authorized reserve and active duty personnel living in the United States assistance with the cost of civilian child care when on-base child care is not available or a viable option for the service member and their family.
The Early Head Start program from the Hill Country Community Action Agency provides services for pregnant women and children ages 6 weeks old up to 3 years old. Components emphasized are education, health (medical, dental, nutritional, and mental health), and social services.
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas can help pay for child care that nurtures your children while providing reassurance and relief to your daily life. Child Care Services enables parents to work or attend courses by offering access to child care scholarships, information about trusted early learning programs, parent classes, and referrals to other resources.
Temple Public Library is a welcoming space for the families and residents of Temple and the surrounding areas to access information, connect with services, engage with other community members, and acquire experiences through programming and library materials to spur life-long learning and enrichment.
Temple ISD’s state-of-the-art Career & Technical Education Center offers hands-on learning and certification in manufacturing, health science, and information technology.
Temple High School also offers the Temple International Baccalaureate Programme, where students can enroll in the IB program through the Travis Science Academy, a health science-focused middle school with education partners including Baylor Scott & White, Texas A&M Medical School and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

Helping Hands Ministry of Belton’s Crisis Relief assistance is for those facing an unexpected crisis or loss of income and need help paying a bill such as utilities or rent. Applicants must live in East Bell County within the school districts of Belton, Academy, Holland, or Temple.
Operation Homefront assists military families during difficult financial times by providing food assistance, auto and home repair, vision care, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items, and rent-free transitional housing for wounded veterans and their families.
The Salvation Army Bell County Corps has emergency financial assistance available to help cover utilities and rent when grant funds are available.

The Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program provides emergency financial assistance to veterans and their spouses who are enrolled in higher education. This program ensures veterans already enrolled in post-secondary education are able to stay in school without creating undue financial hardship for themselves or their families.
Children With Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Program provides health care for children with special health care needs. It also covers people of all ages with cystic fibrosis. A special health care need is defined as a medical problem that is expected to last at least 12 months, limits one or more major life activities, needs more than the usual amount of healthcare and has physical symptoms. This program works with agencies throughout the state to provide clinical and support services. The program also covers things like special equipment for your child as well as financial help for any special child care needs.
Bell County Indigent Health Care Program provides healthcare services to eligible residents who do not qualify for other state or federal health care assistance programs.
Temple Community Clinic, with the support of donors and community partners, delivers quality care for the uninsured and underinsured within the healthcare gap.

The goal of the McLane Center of Hope Shelter is to house an individual or family within 30 days. Case workers can tailor the program to meet the specific needs of the individual. After the client leaves the program and moves into a home, case managers continue to come alongside them for up to two years to offer the support necessary to ensure they maintain long term self-sustainability.

This program serves people with disabilities of all ages and languages.
Texas Law Help has set up a network for low income individuals needing legal services. Minimum access to a computer and the internet is required in order to use their services.

When tax season arrives, volunteers with United Way of Central Texas’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program dedicate themselves to preparing hundreds of tax returns for Central Texas residents in need. With the help of many community partners, these IRS-certified volunteers return over a million dollars to our community and save our co-workers, neighbors, and friends hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax preparation fees.
In addition to VITA, the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.
Hill Country Transit District, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, is a public transit system whose mission is to build, refine, and operate a safe, dependable, and effective transportation network that provides mobility, improves the quality of life, and stimulates economic development through the provision of rural, urban fixed route, and ADA complementary paratransit service for citizens and visitors of the Central Texas area.
Angel Flight South Central provides free non-emergency Air Transportation for Medical Treatment for people who require specialized medical treatment not available to them locally such as treatment at faraway medical centers, transporting blood to critically ill patients, flying special needs kids to summer camp, and many more humanitarian missions.
The City of Temple Utility Business Office may approve billing extensions and senior programs for citizens who meet qualifying criteria.
Helping Hands Ministry of Belton offers Bell County residents help with their utility bills in partnership with the following energy companies: Reliant Energy, TXU Energy, Ambit Energy, TriEagle Energy. If you live in Bell County and are a customer of one of the above companies, assistance may be received once a year with restrictions on the maximum amount paid.
