$22 Million Starcorr Sheets, LLC Breaks Ground In Temple

The Temple Economic Development Corporation (Temple EDC) announced that StarCorr Sheets, LLC broke ground on a new $22 million manufacturing facility this past July. The 150,000 square foot building, which features manufacturing space, offices and a rail-line connection is expected to open at 4519 Wendland Road in Temple in October.

The Temple EDC Board of Directors approved an economic development agreement that includes an 18.7-acre land grant to StarCorr Sheets, LLC. The City of Temple also provided a 50 percent tax abatement to the company for five years.

StarCorr Sheets, LLC will locate to Temple EDC’s Industrial Park, Rail Park at Central Pointe, where Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroads operate 10 miles of rail line. The park is also serviced by its own short line railroad to provide rail switching services and reliable delivery times, The Temple & Central Texas Railway.

“StarCorr Sheets, LLC will support an average of 850 rail cars to distribute goods. Temple’s location in Central Texas is a prime spot for manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution companies needing to transport product via rail or truck because of our rail and highway access,” Temple EDC President David Blackburn said. “StarCorr Sheets, LLC is making a significant capital investment in our community and bringing more jobs to our local residents. We welcome these types of businesses to Temple to grow and enrich our community.”

Once manufacturing commences 45 new jobs will be created, including both manufacturing and office positions. The company will pay above average hourly wages, Penfield, New York-based TAYLOR, the general contractor on the project, partnered with national project developer Schwarz Partners, which is based in Indianapolis, IN. NH Architecture out of Rochester, New York, designed the facility.
