Development in downtown Temple is experiencing a rise of private investment with over $8 million in projects announced within the past 3 months. The City of Temple is aggressively pursuing private investment by offering matching grant funds. Each of the three projects announced will renovate an existing building in downtown; highlighting the historic beauty while creating a rejuvenated sense of place.
CITY EATS: Located at 108 North Main Street, City Eats will be a food hall on the ground floor with four apartments units on the second floor with an investment of $700,000.
110 AND 112 SOUTH FIRST: With an investment of $1,475,000, H5B3 will renovate the two properties and construct a pizza restaurant, tap room, deli and coffee house concept with outdoor dining and entertainment.
HAWN HOTEL, ARCADIA THEATER, AND THE SEARS BUILDING: The Turner Behringer Development Company will invest $6,000,000 to redevelop approximately 85,000 square feet of historic into mixed-use residential and retail space.
